NEWSLETTER March 2010
As we publish this newsletter, Michael Bollom, our MD is
in Japan signing up our new marine distributor. This new distributor
will hold a stock of each A Glaze product making them more
accessible for users in this region.
The London Boat was a great success - we found that more
and more boaters were holding onto their existing craft and
revitalising the paintwork and the GRP rather than buying
new. We took a slightly bigger stand this year and made the
stand more accessible for potential buyers who wanted to read
about the various products before buying and this really helped
in sales. There were a number of new product launches at the
show:
The new CANVAS CANOPY CLEANER was something
we had been asked for many times in the past but we had to
fully test the product before launching it in case of colour
runs etc. This product was shown for the first time at London
2010 and was very popular. This is available in a 1 liter
bottle, which is dilluted 1 part cleaner to 10 parts water
and will remove stains such as algae and bird lime without
ruining the colour of the canopy. Combined with our all new
FABRIC PROTECTOR these
two products can ensure the algae does not return for at least
a year. The all new Fabric Protector has silver ions which
kill any living bacteria including algae on canopies. The
new fabric protector can also be used on carpets and seating
areas.
We launched a new RIB &
DINGHY CLEANER as part of a dinghy kit at the show.
The kit included the cleaner, a pack of eradicators and a
dinghy sealant to ensure your rib and dinghy can be cleaned
and remain clean throughout the season. The rib and dinghy
cleaner is available in a 500ml spray bottle.
For those customers who are not looking
for long term protection on their vessels, we launched SMR.
SMR is a high gloss polish which contains no silicone so will
offer a protection from the sun for about 4-6 weeks. SMR is
ideal on new boats as it removes any swirl marks.
Finally, the new CARBON FIBRE
5.4 GLAZE was launched at the show. This has been
blended especially for carbon fibre yacht masts and contains
10 times the UV stabilisers than our regular glaze to ensure
the sun does not damage the carbon fibre. Once applied, the
carbon fibre glaze stops the sun damaging the masts which
in turn stops them from splitting.
The teak care system was a good seller
at the show and we had a lot of repetitive customers from
last years show who were thrilled with the results the kit
gave to their teak.
2010 has already started to get busy
with new applicators being taken on in New Zealand and Mallorca
as well as the distributor in Japan mentioned earlier. March
sees Michael travel out to the States to launch the full range
of products there, not only for marine but aviation and automotive
products. A partnership was agree during the London Boat show
between A Glaze and a US company to distribute the product
all over the U.S so we are very excited about this.
Special offers are continually running
on the web so please keep an eye out for these. We have recently
revamped the 'shopping' page to make it more user friendly
however we still are not taking credit card payments over
the net until April when the new sage page will be up and
running which is secure. Any orders placed over the net at
present will be called by a representative from A Glaze repeating
the order and taking credit card details.
NEWSLETTER JUNE 2009
With the season just about to start we appear to have had
some good weather in May. With the forecasters opinion on
this approaching Summer you should all hopefully have a great
boating time.
A Glaze has been very busy this year. Launches in Hong Kong
and Japan (see news) Australia (see news) and extended markets
in France and Spain. It appears that more owners are deciding
to protect their investments which in most cases hold high
values. In this climate with increased fuel pricing, you need
to protect your craft. Some of the products have had a dramatic
increase in sales such as our Pre-Cut which is only used to
bring back dull areas on painted and GRP surfaces before sealing
in the new gloss appearance.
NEW PRODUCTS
Active 3
This product has had very good sales and is proving very
good in the market. On cars this is used to remove bugs from
the front of the car with ease leaving a new shine which has
added additional Glaze to the finish. In the Marine industry
it has been used to clean marks on GRP and painted surfaces
leaving a fresh gloss. Try our Active 3 which is priced at
£13.69 plus vat. We have also seen the product develop
in the Aviation industry with British Airways using this on
the engine cowling when they have marks from exhaust stains
or oil bulid up. This prevents them having to have additional
wash and seal programmes which mean that they would have to
increase their down time. This product is also used with our
Eradicator Sponges as we have larger pads made for the airlines
which adhere to velcro on our mop systems enabling the crew
to reach awkward areas that cannot normally be reached. The
areas around the cabin doors suffer from black marks from
the rubber seals from the gantry and these sponges remove
the marks without affecting the glazed areas.
Teak System
Our Teak Care system has been a very good seller with some
large industry users in Holland and France. We are pleased
with the results so far. With the Semco Sealer that we sell,
the teak bares up very well and lasts a good few months longer
that it would without any sealer. We have now filmed the third
process and at present we are editing it onto our DVD presentation
which is shown at the shows. Other countries using the Teakcare
system now include Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.
LONDON BOAT SHOW 2010
As our customers are aware we do not exhibit at the Southampton
Boat Show in September although Toomer and Hayter are seeking
to have stocks on their stand this year of our popular Eradicator
Sponges. We will of course be present at the London Show held
at Excel in January. We have a new location as the show has
moved around and as soon as we have our new official stand
number you will be notified. Changes in the design of the
stand will occur as we have a new position but still on a
corner so that our demo desk will be in full view, demonstrating
our products as usual with Mark doing his bit to show how
all our products work. We will also have the DVD available
to customers as well as a new brochure which will have the
new additions to our product range. If you wish a copy please
fill in the form on the home page and we shall despatch a
copy free of charge to you.
Dinghy/Rib Cleaner
Our Rib/Dinghy cleaner is proving well with our customers
with great results. We have tested the product with the RNLI
Sheerness who have stated that it has brought their orange
Rib back to a brand new appearance. They have also used our
Dinghy Sealant so we are looking forward to hearing back from
them how maintenance has been reduced and that the Rib stays
cleaner. The product is priced at £13.60 plus vat. If
you wish to use the Eradicators with it and then seal the
Dinghy afterwards these are also available on our web site.
Car Products
Our products are growing in this market as well especially
in Asia and Australasia with top brands using our A Glaze
Sealants. BMW, Aston Martin,Porsche, Bentley, Lexus, Toyota
to name a few are already having tests done in Hong Kong since
our presentation. Our agent in Perth has also secured a contract
with a car importer who is A Glazing around 100 cars a week
in preparation for them going to the dealers and then on to
the customer. Our car Air Conditioning products is also faring
well especially in the climates in these areas where air con
is used most of the time.
CUSTOMER COMMENT PAGE
Any photos or comments would be welcomed to place on our
web site. Without you the customer we would not have such
a great reputation. With the economic climate it appears that
we all wish to protect our cars, boats and aircraft so that
its value remains and also preventing costly paint/Gelcoat
repairs. We continue to strive in improving our products delivering
quality and a guarantee that as one customer wrote" It
is great to buy a product that does what it says on the bottle"
NEW PRODUCTS COMMING SOON
CARBON FIBRE GLAZE
Carbon Fibre is starting to become common in some areas of
Boating and in the Automobile industry. Yacht masts are being
produced in carbon fibre so we have now completed tests and
will be launching our Carbon Fibre Glaze in a few weeks. This
will be used in the same way as our other system which will
mean the use of the Marine Preparation first followed by the
use of the Glaze. Any compaines who use Carbon Fibre in manufacture
please do not hesitate to contact michael@marineaglaze.com
for further information.
FABRIC CLEANER AND FABRIC PROTECTOR
So many of our customers and visitors to our stand at LBS
seem to need a Fabric cleaner that works. We are pleased to
inform customers that we will have two new products at LBS
2010. The Fabric Cleaner will remove all mildew and stubborn
stains as well as clean fabric material used in Sail making.
Our new Fabric Protector will now include the Silver Protector
as standard which will stop bacterias from re appearing. Application
of the Protector will be required annually. These products
will be sold in a new Canopy kit. Prices will be announced
soon and should be available on line by September.
A GLAZE FOR CARS
We are soon to release our new car Glaze formulation in the
next few months. Extensive testing has proved that the additional
polymer added gives greater protection. We are now able to
offer any age of car a 5 year warranty. This product is only
available to the trade but if you wish to know your local
application dealer please email michael@marineaglaze.com.
NEW BROCHURE
We are in the final stages of design for our new 2010 brochure.
This will be available on line from September and will cover
all the new products mentioned in time ready for their release.
If you require one of these please wait till you see it appear
on our brochure tab on our home page.
JAPAN AND HONG KONG
Our recent visit in May saw the A Glaze range starting to
be used. Porsche and BMW have now all had training and are
commencing treatment in June. We are also discussing with
Audi for the same format. Several independants are now using
A Glaze as well as Bentley motors, having prepared 30 cars
recently. We are also working with the Shangri La hotel in
Hong Kong to try our new Anti Bacteria products to freshen
their rooms and rid them of bad odours due to moisture especially
at this time of year. Our glass products will also be used
on the shower doors to prevent limesacle build up. Tests are
also underway at the Park Lane hotel in HK for their front
glass doors. A new agent was appointed in Japan(see news).
This will allow the car market as well as the Marine market
to get underway. We wish everyone well on this new venture.
Australia
July sees a visit to Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane
to launch the Marine products with our agents ACM based in
Perth. Seminars have been set up as well as demonstrations
on most of the product range which is now fully stocked in
Australia now. A full report will be seen on our News page.
All that remains for me to say is have a great boating season
and don't forget to take up the special offer on the wash
n shine shampoo in case you need to top up your stocks. Washing
your boat with our product will enhance the shine and top
up your protection.
Thank you for your continued support and if you are a new
potential customer I hope that you find what you are looking
for.
FAQ's
Many of our customers after A Glazing their craft ask what
to use when washing the boat. We recommend our wash n shine
shampoo which can be purchased in 3 x 500ml bottles with a
great discount. Although it is not necessary, most of our
customers prefer to use our recommended brand as it contains
glaze also. If you do not wish to use this product, please
make sure you use a boat wash that is made for GRP surfaces.
Some may strip the glaze due to their detergent strength -
DO NOT USE A CAR SHAMPOO
as this generally contains traffic film remover.
What do I use to remove scuff marks
after glazing? - The pink preparation is good for this
as it will remove oil/film/scuff marks and will not take the
A Glaze from the surface of your craft. You should have some
left over after glazing - if not a bottle will always come
in handy. Our eradicator pack will also remove marks and not
remove glaze.
We wish all of our customers a safe
and enjoyable season.
